Loving G-d
A Memo
With G-d's Great Help - ב"ה
We Say in The Shema Every Day:
“And You Shall Love G-d Your G-d with All Your Heart with All Your Soul and with All You Efforts”
We Are Commanded to Love G-d, Yet How Do We Do This?
There are
many ways to love G-d.
This Mitzvah is endless. Here are some essentials:
Loving Ourselves
G-d put a little of himself into ourselves and this is our G-dly soul, and we take care of this soul in many ways: by following G-d's commandments, which He gave us to instruct us how to take care of this soul…this present from G-d.
G-d also gave us a body as a present to live with and to take care of. By appreciating this body and looking after it, keeping it healthy and not abusing it, we show our love for G-d.
Loving Our Fellow Beings
By loving our fellow beings, G-d put himself into them. Our fellow is part of G-d and is part of us. By doing kindness in thought speech and action to our fellow beings we love G-d. In thought we should always try to see the good in others and overlook their negative aspects. In speech we should always talk good about each other and in action we should always try to help each other as much as possible and be there when we are needed for our fellow. We should try to never be angry with our fellow and try to be patient and tolerant with them.
Developing A Relationship with G-d
By praying to G-d and praising Him whenever we can. By blessing the food that He gave us, by thanking Him for everything we have, by appreciating all the miracles in our life and being happy with our lot, by talking to Him in our own language regularly, treating Him like the caring father that He is…telling Him our true feelings that are in our hearts. In these ways we develop a relationship with G-d that is everlasting and we show our love for Him as our father.
Learning the Torah
The Torah is G-d's laws - the way He wants to run the universe. By learning more and more about his ways as He gave us in the Torah, the endless body of wisdom about our creator, we show our love for Him.
And There Are Many More Ways to Love G-D and to Show His Love…
Each in Our Own Way...
And That You Will Have to Discover Yourself :)
With Love
